Junior League of Indian River — Nonprofit Website & Digital Communications Strategy
Building a Digital Hub for Community Engagement
The Junior League of Indian River needed a cohesive digital presence that could effectively communicate its mission, engage the community, and support membership growth.
As the lead designer and developer, I created a responsive website that became the foundation of the organization's digital communications strategy. Beyond designing and developing the site, I supported ongoing social media efforts by creating branded content that promoted events, highlighted community impact, and increased audience engagement. I also used Google Analytics to monitor website performance, understand visitor behavior, and identify opportunities to improve the user experience and content strategy.
Together, these efforts created a connected digital ecosystem that strengthened the organization's online presence and supported its outreach, recruitment, and community engagement goals.
The website was designed around the needs of JLIR’s key audiences: prospective members, current members, community partners, and supporters.
Through content organization and user-focused design, I created clearer pathways that helped visitors understand the organization’s mission, discover opportunities to participate, and take meaningful action.
The strategy focused on improving navigation, simplifying access to information, and creating a scalable structure for ongoing content updates.
Website Strategy & Audience Experience
Digital Content & Social Media Strategy
The website served as the foundation for JLIR’s broader digital communications strategy, providing a central destination for audiences discovering the organization through social media, events, and community outreach.
I supported social media efforts by developing content strategies that increased awareness, strengthened community engagement, and created consistency across digital channels.
Content efforts focused on:
Promoting events and initiatives
Highlighting community impact
Supporting membership engagement
Creating visual content using Canva
Building stronger connections with current and prospective members
The strategy resulted in increased audience engagement and stronger digital visibility, helping JLIR connect more effectively with its community.
Engagement Growth: +145% in 28 Days
This growth reflects the impact of a more focused content approach designed to encourage interaction, increase awareness, and create stronger connections between JLIR and its audience.
Google Analytics was used to better understand how audiences interacted with JLIR’s website and identify opportunities to improve the overall user experience.
By monitoring visitor behavior, traffic sources, page performance, and engagement patterns, I gained insights into how users discovered the organization and which content areas were most valuable to the community.
Analytics helped inform ongoing website decisions, including content organization, navigation improvements, and opportunities to better support member recruitment, event promotion, and community engagement.
